I just shortened this story from today's Demian reading -
A young man fell in love without a star.
He knew his love would not be requited.
However he sacrificed himself for his love in hope that he would learn to be pious through faithful suffering.
Suddenly, on a day his worshipping had found him on a cliff by to the sea, the young man flung himself toward the star. Instantly he knew what he was doing was not possible, so he crashed into the sea.
Had he truly believed in his motion, he would have made it.
Love must have the strength to reach certainty for itself. Only then does it stop undergoing the power of attraction, but exerts it.
Communions - Come Minions
The church was a place where the rich and poor congregated on an even plain , where the spiritual towers over the material ( an irony to be sure) in communication, to be judged by their merits in the eyes of all ( god was a symball for people to share with each other, and show some decency to each other in the public eye ) at least for a few hrs a week

The Cain-Abel story is also meant to represent to forms of tribal disputes relating to land boundaries and properties. Cain growing things for harvest and another form of farmer driving sheep herds devouring herbage through lands that had been sown to grow food it created bad blood between the 2 different farmers The Caaninites grew there food frpm the ground Abel (A baal) bred sheep ands produce for meat, and wool and was inclined to wander and drive sheep to keep finding new pastures. Vegetarians vs Carnivores. The concept of the Blood hungry Yahweh or demiurge was more favourable to animal production as it lowered spiritual vibrations and made its following like what they ate or it represents one Jews business interests over anothers practice. I got the story from an old book on the meanings behind many of the worlds symbolism as applied to histories and things that affected the past and its peoples.
While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation. They put him in custody, because it had not been made clear what should be done to him. And the Lord said to Moses, “The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, as the Lord commanded Moses.” Numbers 15:32-36
